Title – Emerging Trends in Library and Information Services
Abstract
The field of Library and Information services is undergoing rapid transformation in response to emerging trends in technology, user behaviour, and economic and social conditions. One of the most significant trends is the shift towards digital and online resources, which is changing the way user access and interact with information. Technology is also increasingly being used to personalize user experiences and automate routine tasks, freeing up information professionals to focus on more strategic and creative activities. There is also a growing emphasis on user-centred design, which involves putting the needs and preferences of users at the forefront of library and information services. These emerging trends are presenting new opportunities and challenges for library and information services, but also promise to enrich and enhance the information landscape in the years to come.
It is the responsibility of the Libraries to include the new technologies to better serve its patrons. This colloquium will focus on the emerging trends in the Libraries and Information centres with special emphasis on the technological trends like- Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Cloud Computing and Virtual Reality. We have tried to bring forth the technological trends led by the fourth industrial revolution and how it can find its application in the Libraries and Information centres.
